Les Délices, or the "Voltaire House" was the residence of the writer and philosopher from 1755 to 1760. Today, it hosts -ironically enough- the Rousseau Library, managed by the Library of Geneva. This reading and exhibition space welcomes visitors into a small vestibule that leads to the various rooms.

This project reorganizes the previously scattered reception elements and integrates them into a single new object. This new object, made of stainless steel and oak wood, serves as a reception desk while also functioning as a brochure stand, bookshelf, and storage unit. It further integrates the IT components and security features specific to a museum desk.

Our intention was to design a presence like that of a large tool - something that transforms its form in response to changing needs, while functioning as a piece of furniture placed in the space.
